Join Turn Over A New L.E.A.F in association with Hays Recruitment, for a special two-hour workshop on a joined up approach to safeguarding. Aimed at Adults and Childrens Social Workers, you will access the insights you need to provide the right support, care and protection and deliver against a complex social care backdrop.
Discussion will include:
- Gain an overview of childrens and adults safeguarding using guiding principles.
- The importance of having a working knowledge of both.
- Recognising the signs of safeguarding concerns and related risks in both adults and children's social work.
- Exploration of ethical issues relate to safeguarding across adults and childrens.
- Reflective opportunity using a case study approach for learning and continuing professional development.
About the Trainers
Jan Carpenter, founder of Turn Over A New LEAF, will be your lead trainer along with Sue Skrobanski.
Jan is an Advanced Adult Social Work Practitioner of 20 years to safeguarding team manager level, and the coordinator of Hays Social Work Training. Jan is also a Trauma Recovery and Resilience Coach and Havening Techniques® practitioner and trainer, with over a decade of expertise in helping individuals address lifestyle issues and make practical steps to improve their wellbeing. Jan is also a collaborative author of a book called Winning Mindsets due to be published in August 2021.
Sue has over 20 years social work experience working with children and their families and specialized in child safeguarding. She works part time as a senior lecturer and teaches on the MSc in Social Work course at Royal Holloway. Sue also has over 20 years experience designing and delivering freelance training for a range of professionals and agencies.
